75 people killed in traffic accidents during the 3-day holiday

In the first three days of the National Day holiday (September 2nd), the country recorded 171 traffic accidents, resulting in 75 deaths and 127 injuries. 

According to a report from the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, on September 2nd alone, the country recorded 53 traffic accidents, causing 19 deaths and 40 injuries, all of which occurred on the roads.

Thus, in the first three days of the National Day holiday, a total of 171 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, resulting in 75 deaths and 127 injuries.

Local police forces inspected, detected, and handled 14,404 violations; issued fines totaling VND 30.281 billion; temporarily seized 152 cars, 4,976 motorbikes, and 100 other vehicles; and revoked 2,520 driving licenses. Among these, there were 3,997 cases of alcohol violations, 3,600 cases of speeding, 122 cases of overloading, 29 cases of oversize violations, and 13 cases involving drug violations.

On National Highway 1A, the police recorded 1,807 violations, issued fines totaling VND 3.419 billion, revoked 356 driving licenses, and temporarily seized 330 vehicles. Among these, 261 were alcohol violations, 1 drug violation, 705 speeding violations, 13 overloading cases, and 13 oversize violations.

On the highways, authorities inspected and recorded 108 violations, issued fines of VND 410 million, revoked 71 driving licenses, and temporarily seized 5 vehicles. In the waterway sector, 145 violations were detected and handled, with total fines amounting to VND 206 million.

On the morning of September 2nd, the traffic volume in major cities and surrounding areas decreased significantly, with smooth traffic flow and no prolonged traffic jams or serious accidents.

On the third day of the National Day holiday, tourist cities such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Da Lat attracted a large number of visitors from across the country, but there were no traffic jams. Flights and buses to these tourist cities had very few vacant seats.

In major cities like Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, the streets were quieter than usual, with no traffic jams. Vehicle density only increased at locations hosting National Day celebrations and recreational activities in the city.
