Electric car models in Vietnam: Prices range from 197 million VND to as high as 18 billion VND
According to the trend of "green" cars, the electric vehicle market in Vietnam is continuously growing, covering a wide range of segments. The prices are also diverse, ranging from the Wuling Mini EV at under 200 million VND to the Rolls-Royce Spectre, which costs around 18 billion VND.
1. Cheapest Car: Wuling Mini EV, 197 million VND
The Wuling brand currently offers two electric vehicle models in Vietnam: the Hongguang Mini EV, priced from 197 million VND, and the Wuling Bingo, starting at 349 million VND.
TMT Motors officially launched the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV (now called Wuling Mini EV) in Vietnam in June last year. Initially, the vehicle was priced between 239 million and 282 million VND for two versions. However, due to lower-than-expected sales, the price has gradually been reduced to the current level.
As of October 1, 2024, TMT Motors introduced its second model, the Wuling Bingo, to the Vietnamese market, available in four versions. These vehicles are assembled locally, with two versions to be released soon, and the remaining two expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2025.
2. Most Expensive Car: Rolls-Royce Spectre, 18 billion VND
The Rolls-Royce Spectre, which debuted in Vietnam in January 2024, is considered one of the most outstanding electric vehicles in the market due to its luxury segment, high price, and the exclusivity of its owners.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre is equipped with two electric motors generating a maximum output of 585 horsepower and a peak torque of 900 Nm. The 102 kWh lithium-ion battery allows the car to travel up to 530 km. Despite its unladen weight of 2,890 kg, this ultra-luxury coupe can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, thanks to its exceptional performance.
3. Porsche Taycan: 9.5 billion VND
Porsche is one of the first brands to introduce electric vehicles to Vietnam with the Porsche Taycan. What sets Porsche apart is that the Taycan targets customers who love sports cars and the unique character it offers, rather than focusing on factors like charging stations or price.
In October, the mid-cycle facelift version of the Porsche Taycan was introduced in Vietnam, not only enhancing its performance but also expanding the range of versions available compared to its initial launch in 2021.
The price of the Porsche Taycan in Vietnam ranges from over 4.6 billion VND to more than 9.5 billion VND.
