Billion-VND Electric Cars Debuting in Vietnam This Year: A Range from Sedans to SUVs, Mainly German Models, with Chinese Brands Also Present

Volvo EC40
The Volvo EC40, a new C-segment electric coupe SUV, has just launched in Vietnam at a price of 1.739 billion VND.
Styled as an electric coupe version of the XC40, it features a powerful 408-horsepower electric motor, 670 Nm of torque, all-wheel drive, and a 78 kWh battery providing a range of up to 510 km per charge.
The EC40 stands out with matrix LED headlights, a 12-inch digital driver display, a 9.7-inch central touchscreen, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and a safety suite with ADAS features.
Porsche Taycan
The 2024 Porsche Taycan is an upgraded version with prices starting at 4.62 billion VND and going up to 9.51 billion VND for the highest variant. Additional customization packages may increase the price.
The design features updated front bumpers, wheel arches, new LED headlights, and revised air intakes. Inside, the vehicle boasts an upgraded interface, along with standard features such as hands-free door entry, 14-way power seats, 4-zone climate control, Bose sound system, and a driving mode selector knob.
Its upgraded motor delivers more power, with a maximum range of up to 678 km per charge.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680, the brand’s first electric SUV in Vietnam, is priced at 7.61 billion VND.
This luxury electric SUV impresses with a first-class cabin featuring Nappa leather seats, three large screens upfront, two 11.2-inch rear headrest screens, and executive seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions.
The powertrain generates 658 horsepower and 955 Nm of torque, while a 107.8 kWh battery provides a range of about 611 km per charge.
Audi Q8 e-tron
The Audi Q8 e-tron, the electric version of the Q8, is priced at 3.8 billion VND, even lower than the internal combustion engine variant.
The design includes several differences from the gas-powered Q8. Highlighted features include matrix LED headlights, 21-inch wheels, three multifunctional screens (12.3-inch, 10.1-inch, and 8.6-inch), a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and 4-zone climate control.
The Q8 e-tron 55 quattro variant in Vietnam is powered by a 408-horsepower motor with 664 Nm of torque. Its 114 kWh battery allows a range of about 582 km per charge.
BYD Seal
The BYD Seal is one of the few Chinese electric vehicles in the billion-VND price range, starting at 1.119 billion VND and peaking at 1.359 billion VND.
This sedan, similar in size to the Toyota Camry, comes equipped with LED lights, 19-inch wheels, a 15.6-inch central screen paired with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a head-up display (HUD), a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, and advanced ADAS driving assistance features.
The Seal’s top variant boasts a 523-horsepower motor with 670 Nm of torque and an 82.56 kWh battery, enabling a range of up to 520 km per charge. A lower variant features a 201-horsepower motor, a 61.44 kWh battery, and a range of approximately 460 km per charge.
