B-segment SUVs Under 600 Million VND in Vietnam: diverse Japanese, Korean, and Chinese brands, cheaper than A-segment cars
Several B-segment SUVs like the Xforce, Creta, Seltos, and the recently launched C5 now have starting prices below 600 million VND, making the segment more accessible to customers.
Previously, most B-segment SUVs/crossovers in Vietnam were priced above 600 million VND, but the market is now seeing an increasing number of models below this threshold.
Notably, some B-segment models priced under 600 million VND are even cheaper than A-segment cars. For instance, the top-tier Kia Sonet in the A-segment is priced at 624 million VND.
Omoda C5
The Omoda C5 has just entered the Vietnamese market with a starting price of 589 million VND.
This B-segment SUV stands out with its sporty coupe-like design, with the standard version closely resembling the higher-end variants in terms of exterior appearance.
The main differences lie in the interior and technology. The standard version comes with single-zone air conditioning, a manual anti-glare rearview mirror, manual wipers, a manual tailgate, no sunroof, and lacks the ADAS system.
However, it still features modern equipment such as LED headlights, dual 10.25-inch screens, blind spot monitoring, and front/rear collision sensors.
Mitsubishi Xforce
Mitsubishi Xforce was the first to set the trend of lowering B-segment SUV starting prices to below 600 million VND. Initially launched at 620 million VND, the model has since been reduced to 599 million VND.
Frequently leading sales in its segment, the Xforce competes directly with the Yaris Cross.
The standard Xforce variant is equipped with LED headlights, an electronic parking brake, and the same engine as the higher variants. However, it differs with smaller 17-inch wheels, single-zone air conditioning, manual wipers, fabric seats, an 8-inch infotainment screen, analog instrument cluster, and no ADAS.
Hyundai Creta
Following the price reduction of the Xforce, Hyundai Creta also adjusted its starting price to 599 million VND.
Creta used to dominate sales in the segment, but the arrival of the Xforce and Yaris Cross has caused it to fall behind.
The standard Creta version features halogen headlights, 17-inch wheels, and manual air conditioning. However, it still offers notable highlights like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and leather seats.
Kia Seltos
After Xforce and Creta lowered their prices, Kia Seltos introduced a mid-cycle refresh with its starting price reduced to 599 million VND, matching its competitors.
Seltos was once the top-selling model in the segment before Creta's debut.
Similar to Creta, the standard Seltos version comes with halogen headlights. Its interior is simpler, featuring an 8-inch touchscreen, manual air conditioning, and a manual handbrake. In terms of safety, the model is equipped with braking assistance (ABS, EBD, BA), electronic stability control, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.
The B-segment SUV category has long included some models priced slightly above 500 million VND, lower than the average market level. Notable examples in this range include the Mazda CX-3 and MG ZS.
