Kia Carnival Hybrid officially launched: Priced at 1.849 billion VND, consumes less than 5 liters of fuel per 100 km, features technology rivaling the Viloran
The Kia Carnival hybrid is priced up to 260 million VND higher than the top-tier diesel version.
On January 9, THACO Auto officially launched the hybrid version of the Kia Carnival at a price of 1.849 billion VND. According to the official website, the full name of this version is Carnival 1.6 Turbo HEV Signature 7S. Pre-orders for the vehicle began at dealerships on January 6, 2025, with deliveries expected before the Lunar New Year 2025.
The highlight of the Kia Carnival hybrid lies in its powertrain, combining a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a total output of 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.49 kWh battery and features regenerative braking technology.
According to the manufacturer, the hybrid version of the Kia Carnival achieves an impressive fuel consumption rate of just 4.95 liters/100 km in mixed driving conditions, which is notable for a large-size vehicle.
Another standout feature of the Kia Carnival hybrid is its body stability system. The vehicle comes equipped with three advanced technologies: E-Handling (stability support during cornering), E-EHA (Evasive Handling Assist), and E-Ride (stability support over speed bumps). E-Handling automatically adjusts the electric motor's acceleration or deceleration to enhance performance while cornering. E-EHA, developed from E-Handling, adjusts the motor proactively to mitigate potential collisions.
A noteworthy improvement in the hybrid version is the auto-adjusting air vent located beneath the front bumper.
In addition to its modern technologies, the Carnival hybrid retains the same features as the 7-seater diesel Signature version. Externally, the hybrid model closely resembles the diesel version, with the only distinguishing feature being the HEV badge. The Signature variant comes with full LED lighting and 19-inch wheels with a 3D-pattern design.
Inside, the Kia Carnival hybrid offers notable amenities such as dual large screens housed in a curved glass panel, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, seats with heating and ventilation functions, and a 3-zone automatic climate control system. The second-row seats feature independent climate controls, while additional air vents for the third row ensure optimal airflow to every seating position.
In terms of safety, the vehicle is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which includes features such as forward collision warning and avoidance assist, blind-spot warning and avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision warning and avoidance assist, and parking collision warning and avoidance assist. These technologies provide maximum peace of mind for users.
