Many car models are discounted by up to hundreds of millions of VND just before the Tet holiday
To stimulate the market during early 2025 and the Tet holiday, many automakers have launched attractive promotions and discounts to attract customers.
VinFast's VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 Models
At the beginning of 2025, VinFast adjusted the retail prices for several electric car models, notably the VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9, offering discounts of hundreds of millions of dong depending on the version. These price reductions apply to both battery leasing and outright battery purchases.
- VF 7: Discounts ranging from 90–200 million VND for all three versions: Eco, Plus, and Plus panoramic roof. Current prices for the battery-leasing option range from 760–924 million VND, while the outright purchase option is priced at 854–1.024 billion VND.
- VF 8: Discounts between 200–270 million VND, lowering the price to 970 million–1.299 billion VND.
- VF 9: The largest discount, ranging from 209–448 million VND, reduces the price to 1.38–1.866 billion VND.
In addition to price cuts, all VinFast electric cars benefit from special promotions, including free parking within the Vingroup ecosystem and free charging at V-Green charging stations.
BMW Offers Discounts Exceeding 300 Million VND
THACO has announced a special promotion for select premium BMW models, targeting a specific customer base.

Honda Accord Discounted by 250 Million VND but Sales Remain Low
For several months, Honda Vietnam has consistently offered a cash discount of 250 million VND for the Honda Accord sedan. As a result, the official price has dropped to 1.069 billion VND, enhancing its competitiveness against lower-priced rivals in the segment.
Despite this, the Honda Accord's sales performance remains modest, with only 91 units sold in 2024, ranking last in the D-segment sedan category. Currently, the Honda Accord is imported from Thailand and sold in Vietnam in a single version priced at 1.319 billion VND (with an additional 10 million VND for the Pearl White color).
Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq Receive 100% Registration Fee Discount
In January 2025, Skoda Vietnam introduced an attractive promotion for the Karoq and Kodiaq models, including:
- 100% registration fee coverage.
- "Phat Loc" lucky money of up to 86 million VND (limited versions and quantities).
- Genuine accessory packages imported from Europe.
- A 5-year or 150,000 km warranty.
- Free maintenance for 1 year or 15,000 km.
The standout offer is the 100% registration fee discount:
- Karoq: Priced at 999–1.089 billion VND, offering savings of 100–130 million VND.
- Kodiaq: Priced at 1.189–1.409 billion VND, with discounts ranging from 119–169 million VND.
Subaru Forester Discounts of Up to 220 Million VND
Subaru Forester is being offered with significant discounts at the start of 2025, especially for entry-level versions:
- 2.0i-L: Reduced by 150 million VND, now priced at 819 million VND.
- 2.0i-L EyeSight and 2.0i-S EyeSight: Both versions discounted by 220 million VND, priced at 879 and 979 million VND, respectively.
The Forester is expected to shift its production source from Thailand to Japan soon, making this potentially the last chance to purchase the model at a lower price. Additionally, the newly launched Subaru Crosstrek in Vietnam continues to offer a discount of 99 million VND for both versions, providing more appealing choices for customers.
Ford Explorer Discounted by 100 Million VND
In January 2025, Ford Explorer is being offered with a direct price reduction of 100 million VND across all color options, bringing its price down to 1.999 billion VND. This marks the lowest price for the large crossover in recent years.
Imported directly from the U.S., Ford Explorer is subject to high import taxes, significantly affecting its price. In contrast, its main competitor, the Hyundai Palisade, is assembled domestically and priced several hundred million dong lower, creating strong competition in the segment.
