Many car models see major price cuts after Tet: Popular cars discounted up to 500 million VND, rare imported cars reduced by up to 2 billion VND
Many car manufacturers are offering discounts of up to hundreds of millions of VND, including popular models.
After Tet, automakers continue their price-cutting race, launching various promotional programs to stimulate demand during what is considered the slowest sales period of the year.
Honda CR-V, Accord
Honda is among the first brands to introduce official promotions. In fact, the company has maintained monthly discount policies, and February is no exception. However, the standout offer this month is the 100% and 50% registration fee support for the Honda CR-V G and L variants, respectively, based on a 10% fee rate.
With this promotion, customers purchasing the Honda CR-V G variant can save approximately 103 million VND, while the L variant offers savings of around 55 million VND. After applying the discount, the estimated on-road price of the Honda CR-V becomes competitive with rivals like the Mazda CX-5 (2.5L Signature Sport) and the Hyundai Tucson (2.0 Diesel Special Edition).
Besides the CR-V, another Honda model receiving significant discounts is the Accord. In February, buyers of this sedan will continue to receive a direct 250 million VND cash incentive.
Subaru Forester, Outback, BRZ
Subaru models benefiting from major discounts this month include the Forester, Outback, and BRZ.
Subaru Forester has maintained significant discounts in recent months, and February 2025 is no exception. The three Forester variants now have prices starting at 819 million, 879 million, and 979 million VND, reflecting reductions of 150 million to 220 million VND (for the two higher variants) compared to the listed prices.
However, the Forester is not Subaru’s most heavily discounted model. The Subaru Outback is now priced at only 1.599 billion VND, marking a massive 500 million VND reduction. Meanwhile, the Subaru BRZ 2.4 AT EyeSight sees a 364 million VND discount, bringing its price down to 1.535 billion VND. The key difference is that the Forester is a VIN 2024 model, whereas the Outback and BRZ are VIN 2023 models.
Additionally, Subaru continues offering special pricing for the Crosstrek, with prices reduced to 1.009 billion and 1.179 billion VND, reflecting an 89 million VND drop from the listed price. Some dealerships are even offering lower prices at 999 million and 1.169 billion VND, cutting an additional 10 million VND.
Ford Explorer
The Ford Explorer has the highest discount among Ford Vietnam’s lineup, with a reduction of up to 100 million VND. This brings the actual price of the Ford Explorer down to 1.999 billion VND from its original 2.099 billion VND listing.
Although the discount is not as steep as the Explorer’s, other Ford models also receive notable incentives. Specifically, the Ranger (VIN 2024) and Everest Ambiente (VIN 2024) come with 50% registration fee support. Other models and variants receive various gifts or direct cash support.
Ford Mustang Mach-E
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is not officially distributed in Vietnam and is available only through private importers. While limited in quantity, it has struggled to attract buyers, partly due to its high price. Initially, private importers listed it for over 5 billion VND. Additionally, the limited charging infrastructure in Vietnam has hindered the vehicle’s ability to utilize its fast-charging capabilities.
Currently, brand-new units are still being advertised for as low as 3.099 billion VND, marking a massive 2 billion VND reduction compared to its initial price. With the savings, buyers could even purchase a Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC (official price: 1.818 billion VND).
Mercedes-Benz GLB, A-Class AMG
Mercedes-Benz announced its February promotions even before Tet. As part of the program, the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC (V1) and Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC (V1) receive a 50% registration fee discount.
Unlike some brands that apply a fixed reduction based on a 10% registration fee, Mercedes-Benz’s discount varies depending on the actual registration fee in each province or city. Specifically, the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC (V1) receives a discount ranging from 111.44 million to 133.74 million VND, while the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC (V1) gets a reduction of 90.90 million to 109.08 million VND.
