Hyundai Casper Electric is expected to have an off-road version when it arrives in Vietnam: 360 km range per charge, estimated price from 560 million VND
Hyundai Casper Electric – the compact electric SUV – has just introduced an off-road Cross version shortly after its official debut.
Following the launch of the fully electric Hyundai Casper, known as the Inster or Casper Electric depending on the market in 2024, Hyundai has now unveiled an off-road variant of this mini SUV.
Specifically, the Hyundai Casper Electric Cross is now officially available for sale in South Korea. This version retains the compact and youthful design of the standard model but adds several elements that emphasize its off-road character. Highlights include front and rear protective frames, black plastic side cladding, exclusive 17-inch wheels, and a pixel-style rear bumper.
Additionally, the Hyundai Casper Electric Cross features standard LED headlights, a roof-mounted cargo rack, matte green paint, and a newly designed taillight cluster.
Inside, the cabin of the Casper Electric Cross maintains a green color scheme to match the exterior, combined with a gray-dominated theme on the seats, doors, and dashboard. The overall layout remains almost unchanged from the standard version, with many physical buttons still present.
In terms of powertrain, the Hyundai Casper Electric Cross is equipped with a 49 kWh battery, larger than the standard model’s 42 kWh, providing a driving range of 285 km per charge. Fast-charging technology is retained, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes. The single electric motor has also been upgraded, increasing power output from 95 to 113 horsepower, while torque remains at 147 Nm.
Hyundai has now widely launched the Casper Electric Cross in South Korea with a starting price of approximately 31.9 million won (equivalent to 561.5 million VND).
The Hyundai Inster falls into the small electric SUV segment with a five-seat configuration. It is one of the models expected to enter the Southeast Asian market, including Vietnam. The vehicle's dimensions are 3,825 mm in length, 1,610 mm in width, 1,575 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Compared to the VinFast VF 5 Plus and Hyundai i10, the Hyundai Inster is smaller in size.
